How much do egg donors earn in Georgia – and how the programme works

Egg donation is a chance to help a family that has spent years trying to become parents – and to receive fair compensation for it. But the topic is surrounded by myths. Here is how it actually works, from the application form to the payment.

How much donors are paid

In our programme the donor fee is normally 2,000 US dollars, and in some partner clinics up to 3,000 dollars. The amount is fixed in a contract for the specific cycle and paid after the programme is completed – the egg retrieval.

One important detail honest agencies disclose upfront: the full fee is paid when 6 or more healthy eggs are retrieved. The amount does not depend on whether we retrieve 6 or 15 – what matters is passing the threshold. If you followed all recommendations but fewer eggs were retrieved, a 400-dollar compensation is paid. In practice this is very rare: a healthy young woman who follows the protocol typically produces 10–18 eggs.

Who can become a donor

The basic requirements: age 18 to 33, good health, no harmful habits and no hereditary diseases. Having a healthy child of your own is a plus for many clinics, as it confirms fertility. A mandatory step is a free medical examination: blood tests, ultrasound, a consultation with a fertility doctor and genetic screening.

The programme step by step

Step one is the form on our website: basic details, photos, health information. Then a phone interview with a coordinator, where we answer all your questions. Next comes the medical examination, paid for by the agency. If everything is fine, you join the donor database, and when a waiting family chooses you, the cycle begins.

The cycle itself takes about two weeks: 10–12 days of hormonal stimulation with regular ultrasound monitoring, then the retrieval – a 15–20 minute procedure under light anaesthesia. You go home the same day, and most donors return to normal life the next day.

Is it safe?

Donation does not "use up" your egg reserve the way many fear: in every natural cycle your body recruits a group of follicles anyway, of which only one egg would mature – the rest would be lost naturally. Stimulation simply allows the eggs that would otherwise be lost to mature. Screening before every cycle and medical supervision keep the risks minimal – your safety always comes before the result.

Egg donation in Georgia is fully legal and confidential: the family never receives your contact details, and you never receive theirs. The donor does not appear in the child's documents.
